Wednesday Aug 25, 2010

We’re planning a simple fun reception & I’ve already got some all-white baseball caps. We know we’re gonna have cracker jacks on the table & our colors will be red, white, & silver….we”d like to come up with a neat centerpiece using the white ball caps….any suggestions?

My co-worker had a baseball themed wedding last summer. She used signed baseballs as favors. She had a memento table where she displayed pictures of their engagement, he proposed on a baseball field on a cardinals game. They had ticket stubs and other baseball related items. On their engagment pictures they wore cardinal’s jerseys.

She got regular centerpices for the tables though.

Good luck

You should put a small vase of water under the cap and then poke holes through it and put red and silver flowers through the holes. OR just red flowers and then in silver puffy paint put you and your partners names and date of your wedding on the hat!

I don’t know if this will help or not, but a few years ago I hosted a fundraising dinner with the Arizona Diamondbacks…anyway, the theme, of course, was baseball. For our centerpieces we used old fashioned baseball mits holding the centerpiece….like the flower oasis was in the center so the mit was cradling it. Also, on everyone’s plate was a baseball signed by a member of the team. I mean you don’t have to put it directly on the plate, maybe behind it. Perhaps you and your fiance could sign each ball as a memento/favor?

Take a plastic bowl that has three divisions and decorate it to look like half a baseball. Suspend the cap over the bowl using miniature plastic bats like for a cake decoration. Fill the bowl with peanuts, popcorn and craker jacks. Attach some flowers on the cap and maybe a votive candle on the brim or write your name on the front in the script of your favorite team.

I wonder two things…. if you can find a company that will make personalized foam fingers and if there’s a way to make them stand up on the table.

I think that would be pretty cool and a neat favor!

Or if you got some of those wooden little league bats and crossed them in the center of the table with a glass bowl full of baseballs under the bats… hmm, Im just brainstorming…

Talk to your local florist, they may actually be able to design baseballs out of flowers.

What if you had your guests at each table sign the baseball caps with markers? Instead of having a guest list book, use the caps. Make something on the computer that could be put at each table explaining what you want your guests to do.
