What Types of Wedding Invitations Are Available?

If you are wondering just what types of wedding invitations are available for your wedding, let’s just say, if you can dream it, it can happen.  Even if you have a budget to keep in mind, you still have many many options to choose from.  One of the major decisions that will affect your budget is how your invitations are printed.
Engraved Wedding Invitations:  The engraving process is the most expensive way to print an invitation and is the most traditional.  Engraved invitations have an indentation on the back side and sharp, raised text.

Thermographed:  This method is less expensive than engraving while still giving the elegant raised effect to the text.

Printed: This method is popular today because of its contemporary look, its wealth of options, and its affordability. Printing can be done on a press by a printing company, or by you on your home printer.

Handwritten: When you are not inviting many guests to your wedding, you have the option of writing invitations, in your own handwriting or in a calligraphy style.

Packaging is another consideration you will need to make with your invitations.  Here again, there are many options.  Elaborate invitations may have ribbons or beads, while simple invitations may have a simple folder style.

Your overall wedding style should also be considered when choosing your invitations.  Just as there are different types of weddings, there are also formal and casual wedding invitations.  Take care to find an invitation that coordinates with the style of your wedding, as it will give your guests great insight into what they can expect on the big day.

For the traditional printing methods of engraved invitations or thermography, there are many choices available on-line.  Pre-designed invitations are the way most brides today choose to go with:  they choose a basic design and then add their own colors and embellishments.  Most brides agree that one of the fun parts of the wedding planning process is choosing your wedding invitations!
