Note: this is just my opinion and probably doesn’t reflect the opinion of the entire male population….then again, maybe it does!
You shouldn’t have a wedding on a 3 day weekend!
you are taking advantage of your hard working family and friends assuming they don’t mind giving up there 3 day weekend for your wedding.
The best weddings are small affairs where you can actually experiece what goes on. Having a ceremony around 5:30 PM followed by a Grand "PARTY STYLE" reception where your friends can help you celebrate is the way to go!
(Partying and Dancing too early in the day doesn’t make for a lively time)
Most of the "Juat Gotta Have Its" in a wedding are there to put money in the pockets of the people who makes sure you think you have to have it!

i considered having a fall themed wedding but my fiance couldnt wait that long!! we are getting married in 11 days!!! but back to the wedding. i was planning to do fall colors and have white roses with fall filler like leaves or something. a few years ago i went to a fall themed wedding and it was gorgeous! everything was fall leaves and warm scents. maybe give pumpkin pie scented candles for your bradal party gifts. just think warm colors and warm scents.
congrats and good luck!

first of all what is your style? Did a wedding once that involved using a tent outside and using a country theme along with rust colors, wheat, lanterns, hay bales, horse and buggy then incorporated a little of elegance with the flowers and table cloths. may i suggest favors be omitted, most people these days pay no attention to them and its extra cost, also bubbles extra cost no one much uses them. try something more practical if you want favors. such as book markers with a special saying from the bride and groom to the guest. have a lot of ideas just not sure how elegant you want this event to be. its your day just take ideas and put them in place. good luck

Okay, a fall themed wedding I understand.
What is a "labor day themed wedding"? A barbeque?
For fall:
Use the natural colors: reds, oranges, golds, browns, and a touch of green and/or deep plum or purple. For bouquets, centerpieces and other floral arrangements, use those colors, in leaves, roses, chrysanthemums, or even sunflowers.
