Are most place settings for weddings built up from white china & then the colors come from linens & chargers?
Posted by admin | Under Centerpieces For Weddings Saturday Mar 6, 2010So almost all of the china rentals that i’ve seen have been white. So do the colors just come from charger plates, linens, and the centerpieces? Also if my bridesmaid’s color is coral, what other colors would go with that on for a beautiful table setting? The wedding is Sept. 6th. TIA
I would use the main plate and table clothes in white then use napkins, and center peices to add your colors
No. Maybe back in the day. But this is a whole new era. Place settings are ANY color and design you wish them to be. If you find some settings that you enjoy work around them. Or mix and match. That’s what I’m going to do. My wedding is in May.

Modern Bride, Martha Stewart Brides, EVERY bride and wedding magazine there is
Light purple or other shades or purple depending on the hue of coral. If You’re looking for color, mostly charger plates provided that. Those however can be difficult to find in a variety of colors unless you go with a pattern.
I would to cut costs some, use rose petals. Get them in Coral and perhaps yellow and/or pink and sprinkle on all the tables. Have your wedding colors deplayed in your center peices, and use matching napkins and white chair covers with a color sash.
Wedding favors can double as name tags. Use your colors in the favors…small candy boxes, ornements, personalized cookie or cookie cutter, ect….
There are many ways to incorporate Coral into the tablescape. You will just have to use small amounts of it and play it up.
Again go with purples. pink, yellows, or greens. Pastels of these colors will work nicely…it all depends on the hue of Coral youare using.

Most weddings use white china. The tablecloths are either white or black usually. You can use a colored napkin if you want or a colored chair tie. Pay for the chair covers if you can afford them. They make a room really elegant. Stay with either the white or black table linens. Use your centerpiece for the wedding colors.

In my area the rental choice for china is ivory or white. The table colors DO come from renting napkins in the bride’s color choices as well as the centerpieces, cloth overlays (such as coral over an ivory linen cloth), favors and chair covers (which are $9.00 apiece)
Coral and gold are beautiful for flowers, as well as gold charger plates and coral napkins. Ivory china with a gold border would also be lovely. Ivory chair covers with a coral tie would also work well.
Check to see what rental companies offer and what the banquet facility offers.
I wish you the very best.

Maybe pear….that color would go well with coral…also maybe hot pink

Surprisingly enough, most china used IS white–this actually saves money. You can incorporate your colors in everything else–the linens, charger plates, centerpieces, etc…
As for your colors, with coral you can always opt for a tropical theme with kiwi greens and hot pinks…you can also partner that with a chocolate brown for a more subdued palate. Try taking a swatch of your bridesmaid’s dresses and put it against different palates to choose which one you would like the most.
