Is it tacky to use fake flowers and or branches for wedding centerpieces?

Monday Nov 22, 2010

I don’t really feel like spending a fortune on my centerpieces. Is it tacky to use fake flowers and or branches? Or should I just stick with fresh?

Any ideas for centerpieces that double as wedding favors??

Thanks!

I think it is okay to use fake flowers. But the high quality fake flowers are expensive than the real one.

These personalized lollipop favors can double as centerpieces.

How do you make sunken flower/floating candle centerpieces? Plus, which flower do you use?

Friday Nov 19, 2010

I have 12 tables at my wedding with sunken flower cylindrical centerpieces. 3 cylinders on each table. No color in particular.

You need to attach the flowers to a weight to keep them at the bottom. Any flower with a strong stem that can be wired to a weight with floral wire should work.

Most of the floating candle things I’ve seen are a small clear plastic disk with a wick. Vegetable oil is floated on the water and the wick is lit and will burn until the oil is gone.

My mom made center pieces like this back in the 50’s.
