1. Think about the path your guest will take when entering the garden. You can light the pathway with this garden statue holding a lantern and giving that heavenly ambiance and setting the right mood.

A wrought iron standing lantern is also an interesting way of creating a pathway and giving an old world charm.

2. Another element that gives visual interest in garden weddings, are trees. You can add hanging pendant lanterns randomly in overhead trees for a breathtaking sunset. Tree lighting draws your guest’s eye up and allows them to take in the whole decor.

3. Interesting centerpieces will surely keep your guest talking about you sense of style and taste. Candelabras are always elegant and tasteful at weddings. Scatter on the table crystal or acrylic glass beads or rose petals. Adding a colored pillar candle gives an interesting twist.

You can also play upon the nature elements in your garden by using this beautiful centerpiece with this butterfly and dragonfly decal. Table lanterns are gives a Moroccan feel. Place a few in the center or spread them out along a long table.

Whichever focal point you prefer to enhance, make sure you have lots of fun decorating your perfect garden wedding and give your guest visual interest as they dance under the stars.

Colors are: light purple (like a lavender), dark purple, and yellow. My bridesmaids are wearing the lavender, my maid of honor is wearing dark purple. I want some centerpiece ideas that are more than the typical flowers. My favors are going to be small terra cotta pots with thyme in it (which represents "It’s about time" we got married seeing we’ve been together for 8 years). Any unique centerpiece ideas??
Purple orchids look gorgeous submerged in water. Try 3 vases of different sizes (as previous posted said) and filling the bottom with stones in your color (you can find at Walmart or Michaels), submerging a purple orchid in the water, and place a floating candle up top. For a dramatic affect you can also do a circle around the 3 vases with purple votive holders, the purple light flickering will be beautiful.
Another great (but semi-expensive) is crystal manzanita trees – thats what Im using for my centerpiece. You take manzanita branches and place them in a pot and weigh it down with floral foam or plaster, then cover it with river rocks or crystals, whatever. Then you can hang strands of crystals on the trees, hanging votives, or even purple and yellow small flowers suspending on string or wire. They’re stunning – you should google them and look at the pictures.
Another idea could be vases filled with lemon slices (for the yellow) and filling the top with a simple lavendar and dark purple flower arangement? Maybe scattering flower petals around the bottom of the vase? Something similar to this: http://www.thepartydress.net/2009/04/flowers-fruit-stunning-spring-centerpiece/
(but without the limes and green flowers)
I think any of these will cut costs on flowers but incorporate them in some small way and still look great in your colors!
EDIT: Here are pictures (1 each) of the other 2 centerpiece ideas so you get a better idea of what I’m describing – Good luck!

My friend is getting married April 2. Her colors are royal blue and orange and the style is elegant and fresh. We need creative, cost effective ideas for the centerpieces on the reception tables. Does anyone have ideas? The flowers she is considering are lilies and orange roses, but we are open to any suggestions.
Fish bowls with the chosen flowers are lovely! even with the blue pebbles in the bottom and flower heads floating on the top
