Pink Navy and Silver Fall Wedding?

Thursday Jun 24, 2010

Does anyone have a Picture and a link to a beautiful Pink and Navy or Pink and Silver Wedding. As in a cake, decor, Table setting, Centerpieces, etc. Thank you all Very Much!!!!

This inspiration board doesn’t use much silver (only mint julep cups for centerpieces), but you could certainly adjust many of the ideas to include all three of your colors: http://snippetandink.blogspot.com/2008/01/board-102-preppy-miami.html

Here’s another: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2008/01/wedding-color-2.html Again, it needs more silver to really fit with what you want.

A mix of ideas: http://www.brides.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=53214&tstart=0

If I were you, I would play up the preppiness of the color combo with navy JCrew dresses, silver jewelry, (possibly) navy suits for the guys, pink vineyard vine ties, pink and navy argyle socks for the groom, pink or navy pumps for the bride (and a great shoe shot of both, like this: http://bp2.blogger.com/_3t0nld0v2Hk/SDozZLmCdnI/AAAAAAAABfw/OJgliXrJGI4/s1600-h/skc3.jpg) silver vases (which could technically be pitchers, urns, etc.), a variety of sassy pink flowers, and navy tablecloths. Invitations should also incorporate the color scheme.

Best of luck! Have fun planning!

Does anyone have any cute, not tacky, ideas for a Nascar Racing Wedding Reception?

Thursday Jun 24, 2010

I am having a Fall wedding but wanted to have a FUN, not tacky, racing reception with bits and pieces of nascar/racing all around. Any ideas? Looking for any pictures for centerpieces, favors, etc-as well as games during the reception in lieu of the duck dance and ymca

Well, it’s not going to be the easiest thing to do but it’s still possible.

My ideas:
1. Stick to a red, white, black decorating scheme.
2. For the cake, again go with black and white. Checkered flag style edging will get the point across but still look nice. On the top you could have one of those "bride drags groom away" toppers with a little nascar vehicle next to it so it looks like you’re dragging him away from the races.
3. Have a cute motto like "racing into love" and use that on your favors. Just a cute little red bag with
4. Maybe instead of tossing the boquet you could have the women race towards it instead. Or use that idea for the garter toss. Before the race the DJ could get into it with, "women (or men), start your engines."

The whole point to making this look good is to borrow things from Nascar that are subtle. If you don’t go overboard it can look very cute, if you go nuts with it then it’s going to look more than tacky.

EDIT:
found this cake topper:

and this one:

(to be honest I would get rid of the flags behind them, that’s too much)

example of a possible table setting:

just switch out the middle plate with a white and black checkered one

If I set the wedding date for Labor Day would it have to be a fall themed wedding??

Saturday Jun 19, 2010

I was thinking I like fall but do not like the colors?? What about pumpkin centerpieces and maple syrup to give away??

Labor Day is too early to go all out with a fall themed wedding. It’s the end of summer. Pumpkins and maple syrup would be more appropriate in late October or November, not September.

If I had a themed wedding – fall or Labor Day??

Ten Points for best floral creativity!! Need ideas for fall wedding bouquet!?

Monday Jun 14, 2010

I am getting married in November. My first thought was burnt orange calla lilies, bicolor roses, and perhaps some dahlias. The roses aren’t too pricey but the other two flowers are, and now the florist I have been speaking with is throwing some gawd awful ideas out (collared bouquets… and yellow flowers – bleh!)

I’d LOVE to use just the roses but she suggests I use a different flower (an orange lily) in the centerpeice (and to use a tall and not short one). Uhm my head is spinning.

What I need are creative ideas using the orange/yellow and red tipped roses and fillers for bouquets and centerpieces. It is a wedding of 70 and the reception will take place in a large home. Yes, big enough to hold 7-8 tables of 10!

Pictures are appreciated, ten points for best answer and/or advice!
Hmph. Okay.

This is a stunning bouquet that I just love. It would be perfect for a fall wedding. You could even replace the calla lilies with something a bit lowe in cost such as roses.

For your centerpieces, I really like the below links:
