Beach wedding decor ideas?
Posted by admin | Under Beach Wedding Ideas Saturday Mar 6, 2010Have you ever been to a beach wedding?
Any cute/ original ideas for center pieces, place cards, decor?
I’m totally clueless on this one. My fiance says that the resort is beautiful as it is and that no extra decor is necesary, but I’m afraid that it will be bare without other stuff.
Ideas, anyone?
Well, I am sure that the resort is beautiful, but there are a lot of fun things you can do with a beach theme wedding – and still make it look very elegant.
I would look into getting a wedding cake done in that theme. I’ve seen some gorgeous cakes and they add a lot to the actual decor…until you eat of course

I’m also having a beach wedding at a resort. I’m not doing a whole lot of decoration, the scenery is really the best decoration. For the ceremony, I’m just doing flower petals on the aisle, white chairs and petals in the shape of a heart for us to stand in.
The resort is really old and pretty so I am just doing simple bubble vases with really bright flowers.
I’m pretty minimal with my stuff, I have very simple tastes, but I hope this helps….

I would go bare. Think of the beach. Sand, sun, wind, sky, very few decorations. If you add anything to it, it wouldn’t be the beach!!

when setting up your reception us fish bowls with shells and sand with small tea light candles and your colored ribbon tied around the outside. they make beautful light at an evening wedding. my mom does flowers and has done the decor for a bunch of weddings and church flowers

Simple yet attractive center piece I have seen is a clear glass bowl, any size, put a beach like scene in it, IE shells, sand, palm tree (toy size) beachy stuff. Then use gelatin as a filler to keep your little scene stationary forever! Here is the link for gelatin plastic

I am doing things a little simple….I bought little umbrellas to put in every ones drinks. Center pieces will be a 12inch vase with sand, sea shell, starfish, sand-dollars, and sea glass, rocks with a pillar candle! With a few votive candles around the outside!
Table names can be anything that has to do with the beach’s, or different beach’s you have been! Place cards can be anything you like. From Sand-dollars with peoples names to a shell that has a piece of paper glued to it with names!
I am making chocolate sea shells as favors and having a candy, cookie bar decorated with different shells. You should have to do much your already having it at a wonderful place!
My walk way will be lined with bamboo poles every so often. The bamboo poles will have different size ribbon attached with a shell (of coarse) and the ribbon will blow in the breeze and make for a stunning walk way!
Best wishes and good luck in all your planning!

My wedding wasn’t a beach theme, but this might work. I bought inexpensive vases at walmart and put 2 goldfish and some cute rocks inside. It was very cheap but nice and unique.

I love the blue/green colors used at my friends wedding. It was so calming. She had blue/green hydrangea centerpieces on a sheer blue linen. The food was laid back with a carribean/cajun mix. Her music was steel drums which was cheap and very festive!

I agree with your husband. the beach speaks for themselves…but you can create a aisle with seashells, have bridesmaid carry parasails, go barefoot… and check out this site for groovy ideas.
